Clean air is a necessity, yet it is becoming harder and harder to come by nowadays. Unfortunately, even the air in your home can be dirty. The vast majority are unaware of the pollution around them and the danger it can cause, especially in their own living space. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), indoor air can be up to five times as polluted as the air outside your home because the indoor air temperature and humidity can increase their concentration.
Because of these hazardous pollutants, consider taking steps to ensure that you can breathe safely in your own home. One great way to keep the air around you clean is by using an air purifier. Purifiers are the perfect way to cycle the air and battle harmful pollutants. They have continued to grow in popularity, especially since the onset of the pandemic, as an additional tool to keep you healthy at home.
Here are just a few of the benefits that come along with using an air purifier:
Of course, one of the biggest benefits of having an air purifier is that it cleans your air. These devices can remove hazardous chemicals, contaminants, and other pollutants that negatively affect your health. Air purifiers collect harmful airborne particles so that you don’t breathe them in. These systems protect your home from various contaminants, such as outside pollution and dust.
Clean air is healthy air. Keeping your air clean helps to reduce the risk of getting sick and catching airborne diseases. Viruses, such as influenza or rhinovirus (the common cold), are passed on by small pathogens that float through the air. An air purifier will eliminate any contaminants present and leave you with clean, crisp air. For people with weak immune systems, keeping an air purifier around is an excellent way to stay protected around the home.
Air purifiers have also been shown to help improve sleep. By removing problematic contaminants and potential allergens, your body will be disrupted by pollutants much less, allowing you to sleep better and longer. Many people are unaware of why they constantly sneeze or cough until they get an air purifier and realize that their air is dirty. Air purifiers are an efficient and safe way to combat those middle-of-the-night wakeups.
Asthma can be triggered by a multitude of factors, from pollen to dust mites, which is why having clean air is crucial. With even the smallest number of pollutants in the air, your asthma can act up and cause difficulty breathing. With an air purifier working to eliminate the different contaminants in the air, you could see a drastic reduction in your asthma symptoms at home. In fact, a recent study showed that high-efficiency particulate air purifiers reduce asthma symptoms and attacks.
Dust is one of the most common contaminants found in a home’s air, and unfortunately, it doesn’t take much time for the buildup to occur. Dust is a combination of dead skin, dirt, and other particles that gather together in the house over time. You can use an air purifier for dust removal too. The purifier eliminates the dirty particles in the air and allows your home to stay dust-free.
Air purifiers can be installed in your home’s HVAC system to not only provide you with cleaner air, but also protect your HVAC unit too. Air purifiers catch and eliminate the problematic contaminants that can build up in your HVAC system that cause issues or even failure. By simply using an air purifier, you can save a lot of costs on HVAC repair and replacement.
Because air purifiers also work to refresh stagnant and stale air, they can neutralize and remove odors from around your home. Air purifiers trap and filter airborne particles, which eradicates some bad smells, and leaves your home smelling fresh and clean. If you have pets, air purifiers are a great tool to help combat their odors and airborne particles from them. In addition, these systems can ease smells like garbage, old food, and even cigarettes.
Air purifiers are made up of filters and fans. The filter of an air purifier works as a trap for pollutants when air is pushed through it. The fan sucks in and circulates air so that it’s consistently eliminating particles in your home and refreshing the space with clean ones. They collect airborne particles, so you don’t breathe them in, which ultimately helps keep you and your home healthy and safe.
